This is my newest miniature cottage bear. She's a shabby sweet tea bear! She is jointed at the arms and legs, has onyx beads for eyes, and wears a soft sheer pink ruffle around her neck.

She is listed here on Ebay:

Tip:
Have I told you that it is very important to wear only white clothing when you sculpt? Even with perfectly clean hands and clean work area, fibers from your clothing will float through the air and land on your clay. It is like a magnet for dust and debris. I thought I could get away with making the arms for this bear while wearing a flannel shirt this morning. Wrong move. I could see red fibers landing on the clay as I looked through my magnifying glass to sculpt. I created more work for myself so I'll not make that mistake again.

new website look!

I have been reworking my website. It is now lighter and brighter. I hope you like it! I created a new banner (the photo above).

Also, I am creating a separate sister site for my jewelry so that it is not mixed in with my dolls. I felt that offering both art forms under one roof was too confusing for my customers.

After 8 months of healing from the 8 spinal fusions I had last May, I am finally ready to buckle down and concentrate on my work. I am going to be honest and tell you that the tremor in my left hand from PD has been considerably worse since my spine surgery, but I'm hoping medication changes will help. I see the neurologist tomorrow.
Whatever, I never give up on hope for a permanent cure.

It's a new day! Let's sculpt!

a cottage bunny

I have listed another shabby sweetie on Ebay. It's a shy little OOAK cottage bunny! I used printed paper to accent the ears and I made a simple little fan out of a page from an old school book to send with him for display.....just because I thought it would be cute! Here is the link to my bunny auction:

I have to go work on that bunny now.

string jointed cottage teddy bear

I haven't sculpted a teddy bear for a long time, but I was inspired to make this string jointed bear because I love the white cottage look so much! I am going to list him/her on Ebay a little later today. I used tiny onyx beads for eyes, and I made a little bauble to hang under the ruffle around the neck. This is a miniature bear. It sits at only 2¼ inches tall and stands at 3 inches.

My next piece might be a cottage bunny!

lace jar candle holder~off topic

This has nothing to do with sculpting or making jewelry but I wanted to share this with you since it goes along with my love for vintage things.

I got the idea from pinterest.com and here is my own version. It's super simple to make and so pretty at night. You can get the doilies at JoAnn Fabrics, and Michael's sells individual canning jars. A vintage ball or mason jar would give even more character to the piece. I glued an old fashioned button to the "center" of the doily. If you have anymore questions about how I made mine, please write me at ginnybug8@aol.com. I'll be happy to share!

Pintrest.com

If you haven't joined pintrest.com,you are missing out on a fun site where you can find lots of ideas for your house, crafts, style, etc. It's rather addictive. If you look under my name, you will see that I have shown some of my sculpts and jewelry on my board. It's a great site to get some free exposure for your work.
